Given the large number of ELL/RELL students in our school wouldn’t it be nice to have one site to go to with help for all subjects as well as regularly updated resources? How about if it was an award winning site (Ford Foundation 2007) and was written by a teacher who works with low-income students. Go to http://larryferlazzo.edublogs.org/websites-of-the-year. While you are there you can sign up for a daily ELL tip or a monthly newsletter on best practices by navigating the edublog or going directly to http://larryferlazzo.com/english.html.

It is Christmas night actually. I started the blog today because I had time to do so. I learned about it from one of the teachers at our school Mr. Mayo. He has his own blog mrmayo.org. I am doing this blog for three reasons. One as a way to connect with fellow staff members at my school. Instead of sending out emails I am thinking I might send out blog post or something like that. Reason two is some of the teachers at our school have an interest in doing it so I figured if I did it then they will see they can do it too. The third reason is I think it will be a great way to not only organize and provide a central stopping point for teacher support but also to serve as a means to chronicle our efforts together to impact student learning.
